Behind the JDD agenda

The agenda for this year’s edition of JDD has seen the light of day, but how does it fit into the overall theme?
Modern software engineering isn’t just about writing and deploying code. The key lies in the entire software development lifecycle – from design, development, and deployment to maintenance and monitoring. Today’s developer should be capable of laying solid foundations for architecture, performance, and scalability, as well as designing fault-tolerant systems. In an era of continuous change, knowing how to write code isn’t enough; securing those systems is just as vital.

JDD stays ahead of the trends, which is reflected in this year’s tracks:

Track #1: Core

Modern Java goes far beyond language features. Explore JVM performance, concurrency, security, and the technologies shaping the future of the Java ecosystem.
On this track, one of our keynote speakers, Victor Rentea will talk about “Code Review in Agentic Engineering”.

Track #2: Architecture

Design software that evolves with your business. Learn how to modernize legacy systems, scale distributed architectures, and make engineering decisions that stand the test of time.
Scott Sosna’s talk, “Demonolith the Monolith? Think again!” fits right into this topic.

Track #3: Reliability

Build production systems your users can rely on. Discover how observability, performance engineering, and operational excellence help teams detect issues faster and deliver reliable software at scale.

On this track, Grzegorz Piwowarek, will talk about “Dancing with Uncertainty: Challenges of Distributed Systems”.

Track #4: Engineering Reality

Discuss everything required to make software work in production – from build systems and platform engineering to observability, developer tooling, and production infrastructure.
An example of a talk in this track will be Sławomir Sobótka’s talk titled “Archetyp reguł wzbogacony o algebrę logiki rozmytej”.

Track #5: AI Engineering

Move beyond AI prototypes and build production-ready solutions. Learn how to integrate LLMs, design agentic systems, and develop scalable AI infrastructure for real-world applications.
One of the talks to be presented on stage will be “Understanding Prompt Injection – Techniques, Challenges, and Advanced Escalation” by Brian Vermeer.

Track #6: Soft Skills

Technology alone doesn’t build great software – people do. Develop the leadership, communication, and collaboration skills that help engineering teams grow and deliver better software.
On this track, Kinga Moska-Gajdasz will explore the topic “Your code is great. Nobody knows. Why?”.

Track #7: JUGmajster

Discover fresh ideas from Java User Groups across Europe. JUGmajster showcases emerging speakers, practical engineering experience, and the strength of the international Java community.
Last year’s JUGmajster winner, Michał Zyga, will discuss the topic “Dlaczego nie użyliśmy wzorca Inbox? Jak przesłanki organizacyjne wpływają na architekturę”.

Track #8: Unconference

The agenda doesn’t end with the schedule. Join lightning talks, spontaneous technical sessions, and open discussions proposed and led by the community.
